Gymboree Stuff A Bag Sale - 5/31-6/1

You will receive 30% off all items you can stuff in the reusable bag they will be handing out. This includes all full-price, sale and promotional items. If you have any 20% off mailer coupons or coupons from magazines, you can use those as well. Also, the Summer Deals $7.99 tank tops and shorts will still be on sale and will be included in the Stuff A Bag sale. The reusable bags they will be handing out cost $5, however, you do not need to purchase the bag in order to get the 30% off. If you do purchase, the cost of the bag will be $3.50 after the discount. I was told that the sale would also be available online (www.gymboree.com) and that you could use a coupon online as well. This is a great deal for those who shop at Gymboree!

Potty Humor is a Part of EVERYTHING

My son (3) and daughter (2) were playing "space guys" and were imagining that they were superheros. Of course, with every good superhero there comes a great name. My son announced to me that he was (with no surprised to me), "Buzz Light Year, and this is my sister Flower toot." So typical of him. She's a girl, deserving a specific girl name, but not to be left without a little potty humor, too. Oh, I don't want them to grow up.

BOGO Frosty!!

I love Frosty's!! No really, I am absolutely crazy about them. A few years ago when I was pregnant with my first child Wendy's was giving away free Frosty's for a limited time. I literally had 14 Frosty's in one day. No joke. I switched it up a bit -- different Wendy's -- some were drive thru, others were in store, but when it was all said and done I had consumed 14 of those babies. Needless-to-say, I gained 60 lbs. with my first child. Anyway, long story just to say that Wendy's is offering BOGO for thier new Coffee-Toffee Twisted Frosty or for the Frosty-cino. Here is the coupon.

Garage Sale 101

Okay, so I've been to my share of garage sales lately to find inventory for Lila's Pockets. After my outings today I decided to share some of my insight on how to have a successful sale. In no particular order, here are my tips:

1. The majority of garage salers don't want to spend more than $10 on an item. If you've got something that's worth more than that, sell it on Craigslist. You will get a much better offer there.

2. Don't sell antiques at a garage sale! Sell them to an antique dealer or on Craigslist.

3. Clothing shouldn't be more than $1 -- you've been wearing it for years!

4. Children's shoes should be no more than $2 -- your children have been wearing them and who knows what they've stepped in along the way!

5. Put your stuff in the driveway (think "drive" sale as oppose to "garage" sale -- people are more likely to stop if they can see what you have).

6. Put a price on everything! You will lose buyers if they have to ask how much something is.

7. Don't be offended when someone offers you less -- if it's within a few bucks -- sell it. The idea is to get rid of stuff.

8. Signs are very helpful -- if people have to search for you, they will just be irritated with you when they do find you.

9. Throw trash away. If you are selling something that's dirty or obviously broken - THROW IT OUT - or put it in a pile marked "free"

10. Keep in mind -- the idea of a garage sale is not so much to make a ton of money, but to get rid of your junk. Basically, you could and probably should be paying people to haul your stuff away, but instead you get to make a little cash in the process. The less you value your stuff; the more money you will probably make.

Obviously, you can sense some sarcasm in my writing, but hopefully you get the idea. I will be having my garage sale in two weeks so I'll have to let you know how it goes. Get out there -- there are some great treasures to be found.

Make a Meal of It!

Today at Arby's you can get a FREE fruit tea -- you don't have to purchase anything! So, here's my idea -- swing through Arby's drive through -- everyone get their FREE tea, then swing through the KFC drive through and get your FREE 2pc. grilled chicken meal. Now, all we need is a free dessert. Anyone know of any out there? :) Oh, I almost forgot -- on my receipt for my FREE tea was a coupon for a FREE beef and cheddar sandwich for filling out a quick online survey. Pretty cool deal.
